 Pharmalogical Classification:

As of January 2022, South Africa's regulatory framework around cannabis was evolving rapidly, particularly regarding its medicinal and recreational use. However, specific details regarding the pharmacological classification of cannabis in South Africa may have changed since then, as regulations and policies can vary over time. In South Africa, cannabis has historically been classified as a Schedule 7 substance under the Medicines and Related Substances Act of 1965, meaning it was considered a prohibited substance with no recognized medical use. However, in recent years, there have been significant changes in legislation and policy regarding cannabis. In 2018, South Africa's Constitutional Court ruled that the private use and cultivation of cannabis by adults for personal consumption was legal. Following this ruling, there have been ongoing discussions and developments regarding the legal status and regulation of cannabis for medicinal and recreational purposes. Recently THC has been reduced to a Schedule 6 status and CBD to Schedule 4.

Pharmacological Action:

Cannabinoids are immune-modulators with the following properties;

Anti-Metastatic (prevent the spread of cancer), Analgesic (Pain-killer), Anti-Emitic (Stops vomiting), Anti-Nausea, Anti-Proliferative (agents that target cancer cells specifically to prevent them from multiplying uncontrollably), Anti-Angeogenic  (substances or treatments that inhibit the formation of new blood vessels, a process called angiogenesis. Angiogenesis is essential for the growth and spread of tumors, as it provides oxygen and nutrients to cancer cells, allowing them to grow and metastasize. Anti-angiogenic therapies work by targeting the molecular pathways involved in angiogenesis, thereby preventing the development of new blood vessels within tumors), Anti-Invasive (substances or treatments that inhibit or prevent the invasion of cancer cells into surrounding tissues or organs. ), Anti-Spasmodic Muscle Relaxant (substances or treatments that reduce or alleviate muscle spasms or involuntary muscle contractions. ), Anti-Stress Neuro-protective (substances or treatments that mitigate the harmful effects of stress on the nervous system and protect neurons from damage. ), Appetite StimulantAntinociception (the suppression or modulation of pain signals within the nervous system, resulting in decreased sensitivity to painful stimuli or the alleviation of pain sensations. ), Anti-Hypothermia  (interventions aimed at preventing or treating hypothermia, a condition characterized by abnormally low body temperature. ) Sedative, Loco-motor inhibitor (substances that act on the central nervous system (CNS) to reduce motor activity or movement. ), Psychotropic (substances or medications that affect the mind, mood, emotions, perception, consciousness, or behavior when ingested, inhaled, or otherwise introduced into the body. These substances exert their effects primarily on the central nervous system (CNS) and can alter mental processes and behavior. )

Contra Indications:

Cannabis THC should not be taken before or when operating dangerous machinery. Do not mix with Alcohol as this may cause ‘Green Fever’ (Nausea & vomiting).

Side Effects & Special Precautions:

Causes Dehydration, Loco-motor lethargy, Sedation, Tolerance, Disorientation, Lowered Blood pressure, Cardio Dysrhythmia, Enhanced Consciousness, Euphoria. Might cause mild short term memory loss &/or confusion.

Dosage and Directions for Preventative Healthcare use:

Recommended Consumption by ingestion is as follows;

Fresh Herb—2 gram / day,

Dried Herb—1/2 gram / day,

Hash Oil—An amount the size of a grain of rice once per day.

Antidote:

No known deaths or fatalities have been recorded from cannabis intoxication and there is no maximum amount which is dangerous, however to neutralize the psychotropic effect simply take Vitamin C either in capsule form or in some Fresh Fruit.

Should your general conditions worsen while taking Cannabis products please consult your Doctor, Pharmacist or Natural Healthcare Professional for advice.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

It is a neural pathway regulating Immuno-modulation, fundamental in maintaining Human Health. It consists of two types of Cannabinoid Receptor sites. CB1 in your brain and CB2 everywhere else on your body. They are responsible for Homeostasis which is the maintenance of a stable internal environment irrespective of the external fluctuations. The Cannabinoid System intersects and bridges the Physical (Body System) & the Neurological (Mind System), bringing Balance & Harmony to experience.

What is the minimum age for use?

The Immuno-Modulating Endo-cannabinoid System exists from early stages in the fetus, genetically going back along the evolutionary path as far back as mollusks & invertebrates. Creatures need cannabinoids to modulate their immunity from before birth.

Can Cannabis become Addictive?

Yes. Because the body builds more receptor sites when consumed, but it is only as addictive as a persons ability to resist a craving such as chocolate of coffee (caffeine). However, by understanding that that craving  satisfies a natural requirement of the bodies endo-cannabinoid system which is responsible for immune-health and which thus amounts to an Addiction to Good Health then one realizes that addiction is actually a good thing and is akin to Endorphin addiction experienced by Sport Enthusiasts.

Will I experience withdrawal symptoms?

Possibly, for about four or five days one might experience mild cravings.. Substantially less than one might experience with coffee (caffeine ) withdrawal symptoms.

Does Cannabis use negatively affect concentration ability?

Cannabis consumption adjusts neural activity which may cause losses in ability to concentrate. THC products are Intoxicating and may cause Nausea, dizziness, disorientation, heart palpitations, dehydration, night sweats and/or short term memory loss.
